Biden National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan gave a very deceitful answer to a question about Biden-Blinken waiving sanctions against Nord Stream 2 pipeline and its CEO. He referred to the CEO of Nord Stream as “a German individual” and Nord Stream 2, owned by Russia’s Gazprom, as “a Swiss company”. (See ca 4 minutes: https://youtu.be/OWkit5zeK3g ). Gazprom is majority Russian government owned. Permit requests for the pipeline actually started in 2012, during the Obama-Biden administration.
Nord Stream 2 is a Russian government owned and controlled (Gazprom subsidiary) company registered in Zug, Switzerland, so Sullivan says that they waived the sanctions on a Swiss company. Sullivan’s gall is appalling.
He refers to Nord Stream’s CEO – former East German Stasi spy and friend of Putin from his KGB days – Matthias Warnig as “a German individual”. Yes, he’s a German, but Putin worked for the KGB in East Germany, and even had a Stasi card. The Stasi specialized in gaslighting people and destroying their careers and lives. Did Sullivan get special Stasi training?

Sullivan also fails to state that the Swiss company, that they waived sanctions on, is the Nord Stream 2 pipeline company, itself, and that the German that they waived sanctions on in its CEO.
German Chancellor Merkel is also East German and some believe that she worked for the Stasi, too.
German corporations, as well as French, Austrian, British-Dutch corporations are involved in financing Nord Stream 2, and German corporations are involved in the Russian gas field, as well. However, Russia maintains control of Nord Stream 2 and of the gas field.

Merkel was born and lived in communist East Germany until age 35. Putin was a 37 year old, living in East Germany, when the Berlin Wall fell.

“Nord Stream 2
In 2011, Nord Stream AG started evaluation of an expansion project consisting of two additional lines (later named Nord Stream 2) to increase the annual capacity up to 110 billion m3 (3.9 trillion cu ft). In August 2012, Nord Stream AG applied to the Finnish and Estonian governments for route studies in their underwater exclusive economic zones for the third and fourth lines.[47] It was considered to route the additional pipelines to the United Kingdom but this plan was abandoned.[48][49]
In January 2015, it was announced that the expansion project was put on hold since the existing lines were running at only half capacity due to EU restrictions on Gazprom.[50]
In June 2015, an agreement to build Nord Stream 2 was signed between Gazprom, Royal Dutch Shell, E.ON, OMV, and Engie.[51] As the creation of a joint venture was blocked by Poland, on 24 April 2017, Uniper, Wintershall, Engie, OMV and Royal Dutch Shell signed a financing agreement with Nord Stream 2 AG, a subsidiary of Gazprom responsible for the development of the Nord Stream 2 project.[52]
On 31 January 2018, Germany granted Nord Stream 2 a permit for construction and operation in German waters and landfall areas near Lubmin.[53] In May 2018 construction started at the Greifswald end point.[54]
In January 2019, the US ambassador in Germany, Richard Grenell, sent letters to companies involved in the construction of Nord Stream 2 urging them to stop working on the project and threatening them with the possibility of sanctions.[55] In December 2019, the Republican Senators Ted Cruz and Ron Johnson have also urged Allseas owner Edward Heerema to suspend the works on the pipeline, warning him that otherwise the United States would impose sanctions.[56]
On 21 December 2019, Allseas announced that the company had suspended its Nord Stream 2 pipelay activities, anticipating enactment of the U.S. National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2020 containing sanctions.[57][58]
In May 2020, the German energy regulator refused an exception from competition rules that require Nord Stream 2 to separate gas ownership from transmission.[59]
In August 2020, Poland fined Gazprom €50 million due to the latter’s lack of cooperation with an investigation launched by UOKiK, the Polish anti-monopoly watchdog, under competition rules against Gazprom and companies that are financing the project, suspecting that they have continued to work on the pipeline without permission from the government of Poland.[60]
In December 2020, the Russian pipe layer ship Akademik Cherskiy continued pipe-laying.[61] On 4 June 2021, President Putin announced that the pipe-laying for first line of the Nord Stream 2 has been fully completed. On 10 June, the sections of the pipeline were connected.[62]…
For Nord Stream 2, the loan from Uniper, Wintershall Dea, OMV, Engie, and Royal Dutch Shell covers 50% of the project costs of €9.5 billion. The rest is being financed by Gazprom
The main source of natural gas for the Nord Stream pipeline is Yuzhno-Russkoye field, which is located in the Krasnoselkupsky District, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Tyumen Oblast.[73][74][75] Nord Stream is also fed from fields in Yamal Peninsula, Ob-Taz bay. Gazprom has also indicated that the majority of gas produced at the Shtokman field would be sold to Europe via the Nord Stream pipeline. Anyone who thinks that Putin supported Trump in 2020, after Trump worked to sell US LNG to Poland and move more US troops to Poland, is not in their right mind, or not thinking.
