“ President honored the memory of the soldiers who gave their lives during the expulsion of the Nazis from Ukraine

28 October 2022 – 12:04 On the 78th anniversary of the expulsion of the Nazis from Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy laid a wreath at the Grave of the Unknown Soldier in the Eternal Glory Park in Kyiv.

The expulsion of the Nazis from Ukraine lasted almost 700 days. It began at the end of 1942: on December 18, the village of Pivnivka in the Luhansk region became the first settlement to be liberated from the occupiers. And on October 28, 1944, the battle for the last occupied city began in Zakarpattia, which ultimately ended in victory and the complete expulsion of the Nazis from Ukraine.

The Head of State honored the memory of the heroes who gave their lives, liberating the Ukrainian land from the invaders.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted: evil always has the same beginning, acts in the same way, and always has the same end.

“The liberation of Ukraine from the Nazis on the 247th day of our struggle becomes a symbol: the result of our struggle is definitely the liberation of our Ukraine!
