The news titles and links follow the commentary.

There needs to be US Congressional and other investigations to itemize and assess how much the US and other countries have paid to SpaceX/Elon Musk vs SpaceX costs. Plus the government of Ukraine has been given money from various sources to keep it functioning. Oversight was written into some of the US Congressional bills, contrary to claims by Putinista Russicon Senator Rand Paul, a German Texan who occupies the US Senate seat in Kentucky.

Elon Musk put out a smart-alec/sarcastic sounding tweet at 1:06 pm Texas Time and 9:06 pm Ukraine time, which both MSN and Ukraine have decided to take literally: Elon Musk @elonmusk “The hell with it … even though Starlink is still losing money & other companies are getting billions of taxpayer $, we’ll just keep funding Ukraine govt for free”. 1:06 PM (in Texas) Oct 15, 2022. Out of respect for any religious readers, I will just call Elon “expletive deleted”, instead of what I want to call him.

US AID appears to have bought the original 175 SpaceX Starlinks units, as well as many additional units. Poland recently provided 7,000 SpaceX Starlinks units. SpaceX appears to make a hefty profit on the Starlinks units themselves. Recent frontline fighting would require more server space, and increase the costs – perhaps $1,000 or more per unit per month. Maybe someone less greedy can provide servers? Musk appears to be exaggerating the cost to himself/SpaceX. He’s not paid for everything. He’s made much of his money feeding at the taxpayer trough and wants more. He wants more US Dept. of Defense money. Why not more USAID money? Such great wealth rarely, if ever, comes due to innovation or work, i.e. “honestly”.

Boycott, boycott, boycott Elon Musk and challenge his existing DoD and NASA contracts. He has too much power for one man, and he can’t be trusted. What percentage of his wealth was already built off of government contracts? Plus, if you buy his overpriced Starlinks terminals, he may then up the service price from $150 to $1,000 and what can you then do?

Tesla has bought aluminum from Russian company Rusal since 2020, showing how war complicates supply chain, March 14, 2022, By Lora Kolodny
– Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has vocally supported Ukraine since Russia began its brutal invasion. But Tesla, like most other large automakers, has ties to at least one Russian supplier.
– In late 2020, Tesla began procuring aluminum from Rusal, the Russian metals giant founded by sanctioned oligarch Oleg Deripaska, according to invoices obtained by CNBC. The company was not under US sanctions when Tesla began buying from it.
– The aluminum can be used, among other things, for casting, to make body shells for the Tesla Model Y, and has been used in production trials on new manufacturing lines at the Tesla plant in Brandenburg, Germany

Find an alternative supplier, if possible, is the right answer and send the Starlinks units back to SpaceX and ask to be reimbursed. Elon’s heart is made of $$$$ so will be with China and India, as well as mining interests, because China and India have so many people to buy his products:

Lithuania proposes creating coalition to fund Starlink in Ukraine
Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis has called for the creation of a coalition to finance the work of the Starlink satellite internet service in Ukraine or to find an alternative supplier
. https://www.ukrinform.net/rubric-ato/3593985-lithuania-proposes-creating-coalition-to-fund-starlink-in-ukraine.html

However, what Elon’s talking about is an issue for those smaller companies providing services to Ukraine at cost or for free (and anonymously so that they don’t get the good PR), and they do exist. These smaller companies-workers are doing it because it’s the right thing to do and they may have Ukrainian offices, so their Ukrainian workers must stay in Ukraine and fight. MUSK CANNOT AND SHOULD NOT BE TRUSTED. HE HAS TOO MUCH POWER FOR ONE MAN, AND ALREADY FEEDS OFF THE TAXPAYER. Musk has NOT given this for free, but it’s difficult to assess actually cost to SpaceX vs what is being paid: https://web.archive.org/web/20221015205546/https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1581345747777179651 Original: https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1581345747777179651

Elon Musk has too much power over critical infrastructure, while feeding at the US government trough. Sometimes Washington Post still does journalism, as seen in this important article: “U.S. quietly paying millions to send Starlink terminals to Ukraine, contrary to SpaceX claims” By Cristiano Lima with research by Aaron Schaffer April 8, 2022 at 8:00 a.m. EDT https://web.archive.org/web/20220425064512/https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/04/08/us-quietly-paying-millions-send-starlink-terminals-ukraine-contrary-spacexs-claims/ See more here: https://miningawareness.wordpress.com/2022/10/08/elon-musk-claims-regarding-spacex-expenditures-in-ukraine-appear-grossly-exaggerated-usaid-others-paid-for-many-starlinks-terminals-sent-to-ukraine-plus-shipping-real-cost-of-terminals/ And, here: https://miningawareness.wordpress.com/2022/10/14/ukraine-news-14-october-2022-with-intro-commentary/
