Afghanistan, airport, Americans in Afghanistan, Americans stuck in Afghanistan, Biden Administration, Biden Secretary of Defense Austin, expats, Hamid Karnak International Airport, repatriation, safe passage, Taliban, Taliban takeover, US citizens, US Embassy Kabul, value of life
US lives have zero value to the US government, because they continue to import so many foreign workers, both legal and illegal, to replace us. If you think that the US government cares about Americans, you need to look at what happened in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Katrina should have been your wake up call. They couldn’t even bother to extract people from New Orleans. Extracting people from Afghanistan is more complicated.
And, in particular, the Biden Administration seems to only love illegal drug traffickers, such as those they are allowing to run freely across the US border and the Taliban. The Taliban appear to be nothing but a drug cartel with beards.
If you go abroad you had better get some sort of private insurance that will assure that you are airlifted out in an emergency.
“GEN. MILLEY: Well, two things. One is State Department, as you know, as I’ve said, is working with the Taliban to facilitate safe passage of American citizens, U.S. passport holders, to the airport. And that’s the primary means, and under the current conditions, that’s the primary effort. We have the capability to do other things if necessary.
Q: Well, can I ask you what that means? Because you also said there were international Special Forces there that have the capability to extract. And those words suggest very clearly, in the military realm, you would go get people.
GEN. MILLEY: Well, that would be a policy decision. And if directed, we have capabilities that can execute whatever we’re directed.
Q: Thank you.
SEC. AUSTIN: And I would draw a distinction between extracting someone in extremis condition or circumstance versus going out and collecting up large numbers of American citizens.
Q: Do you have the capability to go out and collect Americans?
SEC. AUSTIN: We don’t have the capability to go out and collect up large numbers of people.” Entire transcript is here: https://www.defense.gov/Newsroom/Transcripts/Transcript/Article/2738086/secretary-of-defense-austin-and-chairman-of-the-joint-chiefs-of-staff-gen-mille/
