Contrary to the claim of US Presidential candidate Andrew Yang, the majority of his father’s patents – and all in recent years – are for Taiwanese corporations and other Taiwanese entities, apart from one for Canada. It is important to know that he was paid – apparently handsomely so – to do research, which was related to the patents. Thus, Yang falsely tweeted: “My father immigrated here as a graduate student and generated over 65 US patents for GE and IBM.” – 31 Jul 2019 https://archive.li/F03uX It appears not ignorance, but a pants on fire lie, considering that his father appears to have been teaching in Taiwan, as well as working there, for a very long time.
