Abdallah Aljamal continued to act as a “reporter”, at least for the Washington State (US) based “Palestine Chronicle”, as recently as June 7, 2024: https://web.archive.org/web/20240610070353/https://www.palestinechronicle.com/writers/abdallah-aljamal/ He also is listed as a reporter and photo journalist for Al Jazeera and one article in English from 2019 is listed, as the second author. The first author is Ramzy Baroud of the Palestine Chronicle, who previously worked for Al Jazeera. https://web.archive.org/web/20240121041443/https://www.aljazeera.com/author/abdallah_aljamal_190122103235277 There may be additional articles or photos in the Arabic version. As of 2022, he was media spokesman for the Hamas run Ministry of Labor.

But he’s on their web site, as seen above:
Al-Jazeera Denies Connection With Journalist Who Israel Says Held Hostages in His Home” Story by Stephanie Kaloi https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/al-jazeera-denies-connection-with-journalist-who-israel-says-held-hostages-in-his-home/ar-BB1nUGde

9 June 2024 IDF update excerpt:
19:39 |  After examination by the IDF and the Shin Bet, it can be confirmed that Abdullah Jamal was an operative of the terrorist organization Hamas, who kept the abductees Almog Meir, Andrey Kozlov and Shlomi Ziv in his family home in Nuseirat. Hostages were held in Abdullah’s family home, along with his family members. This is further proof that the terrorist organization Hamas uses the civilian population as a human shield.

The security forces will continue to act in all efforts to recover the abductees.
18:00 |  During the ‘Arnon’ operation to rescue the abductees by the IDF and Shin Bet fighters, the IDF forces rescued the abductees and the special forces under fire.

Israel Defense Forces @IDF “Journalist” Abdallah Aljamal was a Hamas terrorist holding Almog, Andrey and Shlomi hostage in his family’s home in Nuseirat.

No press vest can make him innocent of the crimes he has committed.

@AlJazeera what’s this terrorist doing on your website?https://x.com/IDF/status/1799851736150204610

On “X” (Twitter), “Ramy Abdul, the chairman of the Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor, a pro-Palestinian organisation” reportedly stated that “Abdallah Al-Jamal is a freelance journalist used to work for several media outlets. In recent years, he has served as the spokesperson for the Palestinian Ministry of Labor. — Ramy Abdu (@RamAbdu) June 9, 2024https://web.archive.org/web/20240610100320/https://www.opindia.com/2024/06/al-jazeera-journalist-abdullah-al-jamal-held-israeli-woman-noa-argamani-captive-in-gaza/ His father, Dr Ahmed Al-Jamal was also killed during the rescue operation. Another picture can be seen at the link.

Abdallah Al-Jamal appears to have more frequently submitted articles to Ramzy Baroud’s Washington State US based “Palestine Chronicle”, which is registered as a US tax deductible non-profit. Maybe the US Congress will investigate/demand investigation of its non-profit status.

The Hamas journalist was filing stories about Israel’s war in Gaza while the hostages were held in his home… On Sunday, it emerged that the father of rescued Mr Jan “died of grief” just hours before his son returned home, his family has said. Yossi Meir, 59, died of a heart attack… Mr Meir had lost 20 kilograms since the capture, “glued to the television for the whole eight months, clinging to every piece of information”, Ms Jan said…” See: “Al Jazeera journalist hid Israeli hostages for Hamas, claims IDF”, The Telegraph Story by Melanie Swan https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/world/father-of-israeli-hostage-almog-jan-died-of-grief-hours-before-son-s-rescue/ar-BB1nTRFc

The editor of the Palestine Chronicle, Ramzy Baroud, previously worked for Al Jazeera https://web.archive.org/web/20240111181242/https://ramzybaroud.net/about/
He supposedly has a “Ph.D. in Palestine Studies from the University of Exeter (2015)”. How can there be a PhD degree in Palestine studies? They did have a PhD, as recently as 2022. It’s unclear if it still exists as the link is dead: https://web.archive.org/web/20220802103906/http://arabislamicstudies.exeter.ac.uk/studying/phds/ Some of the funding is from Saudi Arabia: https://news.exeter.ac.uk/faculty-of-humanities-arts-and-social-sciences/arab-and-islamic-studies/celebrations-to-mark-two-decades-of-alwaleed-philanthropies-support-for-university-of-exeter-students/

Aljamal’s relationship with the Palestine Chronicle was that of a freelance contributor. He was neither a staff writer nor a contractor… Abdallah’s daily reports were originally written and published in Arabic. The Palestine Chronicle translated and republished a selected number of these reports throughout the war.https://web.archive.org/web/20240609200539/https://www.palestinechronicle.com/abdallah-aljamal-1987-2024-well-known-journalist-murdered-in-gaza/

Did he also serve as source for mainstream media journalist contributors from Gaza, who are no longer living there, such as Reuters’ Nidal Al-Mughrabi, who has worked for Reuters for 28 1/2 years, who has a BA in English literature from a university in Gaza, and is apparently based in Cairo?

It seems that Nidal Al-Mughrabi has taken fiction too much to heart in his writing. Why would Reuters use someone so obviously biased as Al-Mughrabi? No one from Gaza or Palestine can be unbiased. He appears to be based in Cairo, so that his reporting is second hand, too. His surname indicates North African origins, i.e. Maghreb, which speaks volumes about the mixture of peoples who are now called “Palestinians”: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mughrabi_Quarter

Without explaining why he failed to evacuate, the UNDP and various media bemoaned the death of Issam Al Mughrabi who was 56 and wife Lamya’a age 53, and children Mohammad age 32, Suad age 30, Lama age 27, Luai age 23, Obaideh age 13 allegedly by an Israeli air strike near Gaza City on 22 Dec 2023.
