These tornadoes are a reminder that life is difficult enough without those who add to the world’s problems with evil behavior. There appear to be more tornadoes, because of better reporting and a doubling of US population, due to immigration policy. Tornadoes are only known to exist if they are reported, and especially if they impact people. Why houses haven’t been required to have shelters in tornado prone areas remains an abiding mystery. It would save lives, as well as insurance company money, if insurance companies would pay for shelters, as well as tree care.

Putin’s been attacking countries and killing people for almost a quarter of a century, but he was rarely condemned and never held to account. Instead Putin was often worshipped, even in the west. This song by Mississippi singer and songwriter, Bobbie Gentry, is above all a reminder of how hard life was and, in many cases, is still, as well as the transiency of life. Both black and white Americans picked cotton in the burning sun and sweltering summer heat. Death was taken for granted as part of life. There was no air conditioning and the mother had been “cooking all morning”, before the heat of the day. Of course, the others were out in the field working.
