McCaul Frustrated With “Cowardly Decisions” to Once Again Withhold ATACMS From Ukraine and Leopard 2 Tanks
Press Release 01.19.23
Washington, D.C. – House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul has released a statement following reports the Biden administration failed to include Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS) in the latest arms package for Ukraine and the Scholz government is continuing to refuse to approve the transfer of Leopard 2 tanks. ATACMS are longer-range missiles the Ukrainians have been requesting for months in order to help liberate their sovereign territory and target command and control sites for Iranian drones being used by the Russian military to target critical civilian and energy infrastructure.

“I am extremely disappointed that the Biden and Scholz governments continue to deny Ukraine longer-range ATACMS and western Leopard 2 tanks. Every time the administration has delayed sending Ukraine a critical weapon system, from Stingers to HIMARS to Bradleys, over fears of Russian escalation, they have been proven completely and utterly wrong. Instead, these cowardly decisions based on misguided fears of escalation are prolonging this war, emboldening Russia, and condemning thousands of Ukrainians to horrific war crimes, other atrocities and even death.” ### https://foreignaffairs.house.gov/press-release/mccaul-frustrated-with-cowardly-decisions-to-once-again-withhold-atacms-from-ukraine/

McCaul, Rogers Urge Admin and Allies to Swiftly Send Ukraine Weapons Needed to Win Press Release 01.18.23
Washington, D.C.– House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX) and House Armed Services Committee Chairman Mike Rogers (R-AL) released the following statement urging the administration and our allies to transfer to Ukraine urgently critical weapon systems they need to defeat Russia.

“The current handwringing and hesitation by the Biden administration and some of our European allies in providing critical weapon systems to Ukraine stinks of the weak policies of 2021, such as not sanctioning Nord Stream 2 or providing U.S.-origin Stingers before the full-scale invasion.

While those policies failed to deter this conflict, the current indecision and self-deterrence will prolong it – costing Ukrainian lives.

Now is the time for the Biden and Scholz governments to follow the lead of our U.K. and Eastern European allies – Leopard 2 tanks, ATACMS, and other long-range precision munitions should be approved without delay.” https://foreignaffairs.house.gov/press-release/mccaul-rogers-urge-admin-and-allies-to-swiftly-send-ukraine-weapons-needed-to-win/

McCaul needs to hurry up and educate MTG on deterrence. Also on geography.

Fake or real ignoramus Majorie Taylor Green, who McCaul said has “matured”:
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene @RepMTG “DOD: “Our mission is to provide the military forces needed to deter war and ensure our nation’s security.” “Deter war” then why are we waging it in Ukraine?”https://web.archive.org/web/20230123141108/https://twitter.com/RepMTG/status/1617237215427366916

WICKER STATEMENT ON LATEST PACKAGE OF MILITARY ASSISTANCE TO UKRAINE Armed Services Leader: U.S. Must “Lead From The Front,” Provide Advanced Weapons
JANUARY 20, 2023
WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Roger Wicker, R-Miss., who will soon be ranking member on the Senate Armed Services Committee, released the following statement in response to reports regarding the latest tranche of military aid to Ukraine:

“It is in our national interest to give Ukraine the tools it needs to defeat Vladimir Putin and end this war. President Biden is moving far too slowly. We need to lead from the front by providing more, better, and faster aid to Ukrainian troops.

We can shift this war immediately in Ukraine’s favor by providing a range of advanced weapons, including tanks, drones, and tactical missiles.”
