BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) claim to “reaffirm” their clearly non-existent commitment to having a nuclear weapons free world is nothing but a sick joke while Russia is actively threatening to use nuclear weapons and is doing live munition cruise missile “target practice” in Ukraine, on homes, schools, hospitals, and shopping malls, with nuclear capable missile delivery systems.

By invading Ukraine, Russia already killed any hope for a nuclear weapons free world. After Ukraine gave up its nuclear weapons in exchange for protection and respect of its borders, no country will ever give up its nuclear weapons again. And, more will try to obtain them.

The fact that Russia is doing live munition “target practice” on Ukraine with nuclear capable weapons systems-bombers on homes, hospitals, schools, shopping malls, is being ignored. The Iskanders can shoot nuclear missiles, and so can the Tu-22M3 bombers. Instead of the truth, we are being subjected to brazen lies by Russia and BRICS.

George Orwell’s 1984 was about the Soviet Union, which KGB agent Putin served, and with which India was allied: “War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength.” ― George Orwell, 1984

Brazil and South Africa may be committed to nuclear disarmament but Russia is the biggest threat to peace that has ever existed, and India is an international threat in the making. Experts have told us for years that China is a dangerous menace, though, unlike India, they’ve signed the nuclear non-proliferation treaty. While Brazil and South Africa gave up their nuclear weapons programs in the past, they could restart the programs.

When writing about the dangers of nuclear power, it quickly became clear that Russia was happy to talk about Fukushima, but not about its own nuclear accidents and waste. Such is the case here. Russia wants nuclear disarmament for everyone but itself, and those to whom it can sell nuclear equipment. Russia has been happily criticizing western nuclear power projects, but never its own civilian-military Rosatom. Russia’s friend, India, refuses to sign the nuclear non-proliferation treaty and refuses to allow inspections of its military related nuclear sites. India is actively trying to get nuclear missile delivery systems, which would allow it to threaten and attack the the Americas, Europe, as well as Pakistan and China. Currently, Russia is doing live munitions “target practice” on civilian infrastructure in Ukraine with missiles from dual purpose delivery systems. Both the Iskander and the cruise missiles they’ve been using have nuclear missile variants.

By invading Ukraine in 2014-2022, Russia already killed any hope for a nuclear weapons free world. After Ukraine gave up its nuclear weapons in exchange for protection and respect of its borders, no country will ever give up its nuclear weapons again. And, more will try to obtain them. Russia’s longtime ally, India, has nuclear warheads but has refused to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Furthermore, India “possesses an arsenal of about 160 plutonium-based nuclear warheads developed outside of the NPT, as it is not a signatory to the treaty. Furthermore, India is trying to obtain Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBM) and Submarine launched ballistic missiles (SLBM)”, meaning that the west will have a Russia, India and China problem, if this continues. India and China each have ten times the population of Russia, as well as being nuclear armed. See: https://www.armscontrol.org/factsheets/indiaprofile At least China has signed the nuclear non-proliferation treaty, while India refuses: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_parties_to_the_Treaty_on_the_Non-Proliferation_of_Nuclear_Weapons

Some who allege to be anti-nuclear activists are running offensive/defensive cover for Putin, even as he attempts to destroy everybody and everything in Ukraine, and threatens nuclear war.

By doing so, they are only convincing people that their real motive was the denuclearization and demilitarization of the west, while Russia, China, and India keep their nuclear weapons. And, people must stop promoting Putin’s lie that modern day Poland is anywhere near Russia. Belarus and Ukraine lie between it and Russia. Kaliningrad is a German city, and region, occupied by Russia since 1946, and unconnected to the Russian mainland. It belongs to Europe.

RT is spinning the clear lies: “BRICS nations urge nuclear disarmament
23 Jun, 2022 21:22 “Members of the group have called for a “world free of nuclear weaponshttps://web.archive.org/web/20220623213945/https://www.rt.com/news/557710-brics-nuclear-weapons-declaration Words are cheap.

This is the excerpt from the full statement. To call this BS would be an insult to bull manure. They note an agreement that was signed on January 3rd – almost two months before Russia’s all out assault on Ukraine: “The Ministers reaffirmed their commitment to a world free of nuclear weapons and stressed their strong commitment to nuclear disarmament and their support to the work on this subject during the session of 2022 of the Conference on Disarmament. They noted the Joint Statement of the Leaders of the People’s Republic of China, the French Republic, the Russian Federation, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and the United States on Preventing Nuclear War and Avoiding Arms Races on 3 January 2022, in particular the affirmation that a nuclear war cannot be won and must never be fought.“ “BRICS Joint Statement on “Strengthen BRICS Solidarity and Cooperation, Respond to New Features and Challenges in International Situation” May 20, 2022 https://web.archive.org/web/20220615035915/https://www.mea.gov.in/bilateral-documents.htm?dtl/35335/BRICS_Joint_Statement_on_Strengthen_BRICS_Solidarity_and_Cooperation_Respond_to_New_Features_and_Challenges_in_International_Situation

If people are going to STILL believe these Russian lies, then we should just get it over with and change this song from Iran to Kremlin: “Bomb Iran (1980)https://youtu.be/s8hEtI9AI0U Israel will take care of Iran, but who’s going to take care of Russia? If Putin’s not stopped then he will use nuclear weapons in a first strike. Pray that Israel gets a new government that will refuse to tolerate Putin’s behavior!

Arms Control and Proliferation Profile: India
FACT SHEETS & BRIEFS

India possesses an arsenal of about 160 plutonium-based nuclear warheads developed outside of the NPT, as it is not a signatory to the treaty. It is actively seeking to expand its nuclear capabilities, including current development of ICBM and SLBM capabilities, and deployed its first ballistic missile submarine in August 2016…. Though Washington has pushed for increased inclusion of India in nonproliferation regimes in recent years, India still does not allow for international inspections at all of its nuclear facilities and maintains fissile material that could be developed into nuclear weapons, while some Indian entities continue to be sanctioned for nonproliferation violations. After Exercise, Russia Downplays Nuclear Threat
ARMS CONTROL TODAY
June 2022
By Shannon Bugos
Russia simulated launches of nuclear weapons during military exercises in the Kaliningrad enclave in May, according to its defense ministry, even as Russian diplomats attempted to downplay the likelihood of Russia employing nuclear weapons in Ukraine.
Russia has used the Iskander-M missile, shown parading through Red Square, to pummel Ukraine and conducted simulated launches of nuclear weapons with the missile during military exercises in the Kaliningrad enclave in May….
The Russian exercise included “electronic launches” of dual-capable, road-mobile Iskander-M ballistic missiles against targets such as…

By invading Ukraine in 2014-2022, Russia already killed any hope for a nuclear weapons free world. After Ukraine gave up its nuclear weapons in exchange for protection, no country will ever give up its nuclear weapons again. And, more will try to obtain them. Yet some who alleged to be anti-nuclear activists are running defense/offense cover for Putin. Russia, the UK and the US made the following promises in 1994, renewed in 2009, in exchange for Ukraine giving up its nuclear arsenal. Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov actually signed the memo renewal submission to the UN in 2009. (See entire memo at link). Russia’s violated the first three.
They promised

1. “to respect the independence and sovereignty and the existing borders of Ukraine”;

2. “to refrain from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of Ukraine, and that none of their weapons will ever be used against Ukraine except in self-defence or otherwise in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations”;

 3.“to refrain from economic coercion designed to subordinate to their own interest the exercise by Ukraine of the rights inherent in its sovereignty and thus to secure advantages of any kind”;

4. “to provide assistance to Ukraine, as a non-nuclear-weapon State party to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, if Ukraine should become a victim of an act of aggression or an object of a threat of aggression in which nuclear weapons are used” See more here: https://miningawareness.wordpress.com/2022/01/22/budapest-memo-ukraine-gave-up-worlds-third-largest-nuclear-weapons-arsenal-in-exchange-for-security-assurances-respect-of-ukraine-territorial-integrity/ ] As for the fourth one, Russia would have to protect against themselves, since they are the aggressors!

Joint Statement of the Leaders of the Five Nuclear-Weapon States on Preventing Nuclear War and Avoiding Arms Races JANUARY 03, 2022 STATEMENTS AND RELEASES

The People’s Republic of China, the French Republic, the Russian Federation, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and the United States of America consider the avoidance of war between Nuclear-Weapon States and the reduction of strategic risks as our foremost responsibilities.

 We affirm that a nuclear war cannot be won and must never be fought.  As nuclear use would have far-reaching consequences, we also affirm that nuclear weapons—for as long as they continue to exist—should serve defensive purposes, deter aggression, and prevent war.  We believe strongly that the further spread of such weapons must be prevented.

We reaffirm the importance of addressing nuclear threats and emphasize the importance of preserving and complying with our bilateral and multilateral non-proliferation, disarmament, and arms control agreements and commitments.  We remain committed to our Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) obligations, including our Article VI obligation “to pursue negotiations in good faith on effective measures relating to cessation of the nuclear arms race at an early date and to nuclear disarmament, and on a treaty on general and complete disarmament under strict and effective international control.”

We each intend to maintain and further strengthen our national measures to prevent unauthorized or unintended use of nuclear weapons.  We reiterate the validity of our previous statements on de-targeting, reaffirming that none of our nuclear weapons are targeted at each other or at any other State.

We underline our desire to work with all states to create a security environment more conducive to progress on disarmament with the ultimate goal of a world without nuclear weapons with undiminished security for all.  We intend to continue seeking bilateral and multilateral diplomatic approaches to avoid military confrontations, strengthen stability and predictability, increase mutual understanding and confidence, and prevent an arms race that would benefit none and endanger all.  We are resolved to pursue constructive dialogue with mutual respect and acknowledgment of each other’s security interests and concerns
