Approving aid isn’t enough. Nor is “announcing” aid enough. It must be appropriate aid and it must arrive in a timely manner. It’s been suggested that countries need to stop openly announcing military aid, as well as delivering aid in a timely manner.
Fortunately Ukraine doesn’t have to depend on Biden Sec. of State Tony Blinken, who waived US Congressional sanctions on Nord Stream 2 pipeline, even as the Russian military was building up on Ukraine’s borders last year. Blinken appears as brave as a cowardly chihuahua. He was raised, from age 9, by his pro-Russian stepfather, Sam Pisar, who was also the lawyer and confidant of Ghislaine Maxwell’s father, Robert Maxwell. He and Ghislaine are close to the same age. Did she threaten to expose something at trial last year? Is that why he waived sanctions until it was too late? She only went to jail last December 29th. Blinken’s been Biden’s foreign policy advisor for decades. Hopefully he doesn’t still hold much power, after all of his fiascos.
Vladimir Potanin is still unsanctioned by everyone except Canada and Australia.
Donbas is the Ukraine’s coal mining basin with oil and gas potential. Russia has the largest land area in the world. Yet, Russia is ranked ninth in population, whereas China is first, and China’s population is over ten times that of Russia. Most of Russia’s population is in the west, whereas most of its resources are in the Asian part, east of the Urals mountains. Russia still has historically Chinese land, as well as historically European land. Russia needs to return stolen land and not steal more!
“Austin: Defense Contact Group takes into account all Ukraine’s urgent needs on battlefield 15.06.2022 20:17 https://www.ukrinform.net
The Ukraine Defense Contact Group, which already involves more than 45 countries, is committed to providing Ukraine with everything it needs to defend itself, and the group’s successful work is a reflection of the global rejection of Russia’s unprovoked military aggression against Ukraine.
“Minister Reznikov and I have been in close contact about changes on the battlefield and we’re working in lockstep to meet Ukraine’s requests for new capabilities, especially its need for long-range fires, armor and coastal defense. To help Ukraine defend itself, the United States has provided it with howitzers and Javelins and huge amounts of ammunition, UAVs, Mi-17 helicopters, counter-artillery radars, tactical vehicles and electronic jamming equipment. Along with our partners, we’re also training Ukrainian forces on new capabilities, and we’re committed to doing even more,” U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said in his opening remarks at the Ukraine Defense Contact Group Meeting in Brussels, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
According to the Pentagon chief, Ukraine is facing a pivotal moment on the battlefield. As President Zelensky warned, Russia has shifted its focus to Donbas after failing to take Kyiv.
“We can’t underestimate the challenge that Ukraine faces. Russia is using its long-range fires to try to overwhelm Ukrainian positions, and Russia continues to indiscriminately bombard Ukraine’s sovereign territory and recklessly endanger Ukrainian civilians. So we must intensify our shared commitment to Ukraine’s self-defense and we must push ourselves even harder to ensure that Ukraine can defend itself, its citizens and its territory,” Austin said.
The U.S. Secretary of Defense warned against making mistake about the nature of this conflict. Russia’s unprovoked and indefensible invasion isn’t just a danger to Ukraine; it’s a menace to European security and it’s an affront to the rules-based international order.
“We must continue to rise to meet this challenge. Ukraine’s soldiers and citizens are doing just that, and they are defending their homeland with resolve, grit and ingenuity, and they’ve inspired us all and they need our help,” the Pentagon chief stressed.
He noted that the US was providing Ukraine’s defenders with HIMARS and multiple launch rocket systems, and that would significantly boost Ukraine’s capabilities, especially when combined with additional donations of NATO-standard rocket systems from the U.K. and our other allies.
“Allies are providing harpoon launchers and missiles to bolster Ukraine’s coastal defense, and the U.K. is providing M270 multiple launch rocket system and training to help Ukraine defend its territory in the Donbas. And several of our allies and partners are providing howitzers and artillery ammunition and Ukrainian forces are now using that to defend the Donbas. And meanwhile, other forms of military assistance from tanks to helicopters continue to flow into Ukraine,” Austin added.
He stressed that by working together, the members of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group Meeting can help Ukraine defend itself from Russia’s cruel assault and strengthen Ukraine’s security for the long haul.
“And we can rally together to show that rules in fact do matter and that might does not make right,” the U.S. Secretary of Defense summed up.

An additional security assistance package for Ukraine, totaling $1 billion, approved by U.S. President Joe Biden on Wednesday, includes Harpoon anti-ship missile systems, HIMARS ammunition, additional M777 howitzers, and many more.
The relevant statement was made by U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin during his speech in Brussels, following the Ramstein 3 meeting, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“It [the new security assistance package – Ed.] includes guided MLRS ammunition, 18 more M777 howitzers, tactical vehicles to tow them, and 36,000 rounds of 155mm ammunition,” Austin said.
This package also includes $650 million in Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI) funds.
“That will help Ukraine to defend itself with two additional Harpoon coastal defense systems, thousands of secure radios, Night Vision devices, thermal sights, and other optics,” Austin noted.
In addition, the new package includes funding for training, maintenance, sustainment, transportation, and administrative costs.
According to Austin, new security assistance packages for Ukraine have been announced by other allies and partners today.
Austin expressed gratitude to Germany that announced they would provide three MLRS and guided MLRS munitions to Ukraine, as well as Slovakia that announced a significant donation of Mi-17 helicopters and urgently needed rocket ammunition. Austin also mentioned important new artillery donations from many countries, including Canada, Poland and the Netherlands.
“I am grateful to these countries and to all of the countries helping Ukraine to defend itself,” Austin stressed.

“Pentagon chief calls for additional assistance to Ukraine at Defense Contact Group Meeting 15.06.2022 19:14 https://www.ukrinform.net
Chiefs of defense agencies of more than 45 countries, representatives of NATO and EU participate in the Ukraine Defense Contact Group Meeting, held by the United States in Brussels.
In his opening remarks at the meeting, U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin welcomed Ecuador, Georgia, and Moldova, which joined the group, Ukrinform reports with reference to the Voice of America. https://ukrainian.voanews.com/a/6618389.html
“We don’t have time to waste. So we’re here to dig in our spurs. And we’re going to deepen our support for the Ukrainian armed forces in today’s fight and we’re going to build their enduring strength for tomorrow’s dangers,” the Pentagon chief said.
Austin called on the countries to mobilize additional aid for Ukraine now that Russia has focused on capturing Donetsk and Luhansk regions and is using long-range systems to overcome Ukrainian positions. The United States is currently working to provide Ukraine with long-range firepower, armored vehicles, and coastal defense systems, the U.S. Secretary of Defense added.
As the United States sent HIMARS and multiple-launch rocket systems to Ukraine, the country’s defense capabilities have strengthened significantly, Austin said, especially along with the provision of missile systems from the United Kingdom and other allies.
