“Update 9 – IAEA Director General Statement on the situation in Ukraine
18/2022
Vienna, Austria
March 3, 2022
Ukraine informed the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) today that a large number of Russian tanks and infantry “broke through the block-post” to the town of Enerhodar, a few kilometres from the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP), Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi said.
In an urgent letter to the Director General, the Ukraine regulatory authority added that Russian infantry troops were moving directly towards the site of Ukraine’s largest nuclear power plant. “The battle is going on in the town of Enerhodar and on the road to the ZNPP (Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant) site,” it said, adding that the situation was “critical”.
Director General Grossi appealed for an immediate halt to the use of force at Enerhodar and called on the military forces operating there to refrain from violence near the nuclear power plant.
He said the IAEA continues to consult with Ukraine and others with a view to provide maximum possible assistance to the country as it seeks to maintain nuclear safety and security in the current difficult circumstances.” https://www.iaea.org/newscenter/pressreleases/update-9-iaea-director-general-statement-on-the-situation-in-ukraine
What happened to all of those planes that some European countries were sending to Ukraine? The UN needs to set up a no-fly periphery. NATO shouldn’t be lured into this. It appears too late, anyway. Time to ask if Russia has enough technicians to run the nuclear power station, as the Chernobyl workers are tired and under great duress.
If nuclear armed India were really neutral, they could do a no fly zone, but they are so deeply in bed with Russia that they refuse to condemn the Russian invasion of Ukraine, while their media mocks NATO for not intervening making India’s media a more effective pro-Kremlin propaganda arm than the Kremlin itself. India owes it to the world, too, because Holtec, which is owned by India born, raised, and educated Kris Singh has sold its crappy nuclear waste cans to Ukraine. This is well-documented in this blog. Simply do searches for Holtec and Kris Singh.
As we warned in 2015, “Holtec Casks are already located in the US, in Europe (proposed or existing), and are proposed at Chernobyl in the Ukraine. Holtec’s Kris Singh is probably the most dangerous man alive besides Vladimir Putin, certainly one of the most dangerous. (Putin controls Russian State owned nuclear giant Rosatom)”. https://miningawareness.wordpress.com/2015/10/28/holtec-nuclear-fuel-mpcs-certificate-of-noncompliance-with-asme-comment-deadline-tonite-oct-28th-11-59-pm-us-et-ny-dc-apparent-misrepresentation-of-standards-by-holtec-owner-kris-singh/
Contrary to what some idiot news sources state, the nuclear power stations and waste remain a danger even when they are offline.
Why don’t they invite Putin for a swim in one of the nuclear waste cooling pools, after they coronate him new Tsar of Kyivan Rus? When you are dealing with someone who plays dirty, like Putin, it’s past time to do asymmetric warfare. The American Revolution was won with asymmetric warfare against a professional army that marched around in red coats. To quote or paraphrase theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer, who wrote a book called Ethics, Better for a lover of truth to tell a lie, than for a liar to tell the truth.
