Not only does Russia have nuclear weapons, it has one of two official stores of smallpox, as well as other dangerous pathogens. While we certainly hope that it won’t happen, the fact that some pro-Russian social media sites are saying that the west may release a bioweapon in Ukraine and/or that Russia is targeting bioweapons facilities in Ukraine, suggests that it is Russia who may plan to release a bioweapon (may God forbid).
“Under Rospotrebnadzor supervision, the center stores dangerous strains of smallpox, anthrax, Ebola, and other viruses. Vector is one of two institutions on the planet where the smallpox virus survives. The other is the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta.”
If Russia lets out smallpox and you were vaccinated with the original smallpox vaccine, then you have lifetime immunity. We don’t know if this is true for the newer smallpox vaccine, but most likely. Although Russia genetically manipulated the virus, there may still be immunity – at least partial immunity. https://miningawareness.wordpress.com/2022/02/27/russia-bioweapons-program-soviet-and-post-soviet/
“Russian Virology Research Center Hit By Blast
September 16, 2019
An explosion occurred in the state scientific center of virology “Vector” near Novosibirsk. This research center has one of the most complete collections of dangerous viruses in the world.
According to Rospotrebnadzor, a gas cylinder exploded on the fifth floor of a six-story laboratory building during repair work, after which a fire broke out in an area of 30 square meters. The fire has been extinguished. One worker was injured. He was taken to the hospital with second and third degree burns.
Rospotrebnadzor stressed that there were no biologically hazardous substances in the room where the explosion occurred. At the same time, all the windows in the building of the scientific center were shattered.
In turn, the mayor of the science city of Koltsovo, where Vector is located, said that at the time of the repair, the laboratory building was not used for its intended purpose. Nikolai Krasnikov clarified that the explosion occurred in preparation for painting work, and also assured that there was no threat of biological hazard.
The State Scientific Center “Vector” was founded in 1974. It is one of the largest research and production complexes in Russia, conducting fundamental research in the field of natural sciences. In the 1970s–1980s, the center developed biological and bacteriological weapons, as well as means of protection against them.
The Vector also has a unique collection of cultures of microorganisms – in particular, this is one of the two places in the world where the smallpox virus is stored. The center also stores the Ebola virus. Now Vector is part of the structure of Rospotrebnadzor”. Translation based on: https://www.svoboda.org/a/30167061.html

By RFE/RL’s Russian Service
A gas-cylinder explosion has sparked a fire at a Russian laboratory housing one of the world’s most comprehensive collections of dangerous viruses. Russia’s consumer-safety watchdog Rospotrebnadzor said on September 16 that one worker was sent to hospital for third-degree burns suffered in the incident at the State Research Center of Virology and Biotechnology (Vector) near the Russian city of Novosibirsk. It added that no biohazardous substances were present in the sanitary inspection room at the time of the fire.
The city’s mayor, Nikolai Krasnikov, said the laboratory, on the fifth floor of a six-story building in the city of Koltsovo, was undergoing renovation and repair work at the time of the incident. All glass in the building was said to have been broken in the blast. A fire covering about 30 square meters was extinguished after the explosion. In the 1970-1980s, the research center developed biological and bacteriological weapons, as well as means of protection against them. This wasn’t the only lab with a problem, though it appears to have been more serious than the 2019 US leak. The Fort Detrick Lab was shut end of July or beginning of August 2019, because of safety concerns. Iranian Sina Bavari was science director at Fort Detrick. Sina Bavari appears to have come to the US as a student shortly before the Iranian Revolution.
