Bear spray is actually less potent than human pepper spray. However, the impacts can be serious. It seems to have triggered a response leading to the death of US Capitol Policeman Sicknick, although no relationship has been proven. The Biden DOJ calls the bear spray a “dangerous weapon”. Now the US government calls the January 6th events a “breach” of the US Capitol, which sounds more accurate.

Both of those charged, George Pierre Tanios and Julian Elie Khater, seem to be Maronite Christian Lebanese-Americans. Based on an obituary and other info found online (which we won’t link to so that relatives don’t get harassed), it seems likely that their families immigrated from Lebanon during the 1980s Civil War. Nonetheless, Lebanese Christians have immigrated, in large numbers, to the United States for around 150 years. However, the earliest known arrival was around 1853.

It’s hard to tell if these guys are just stupid to bear-spray law enforcement, or if they were acting as “agent provocateurs” to undermine Trump. At first we thought they were just stupid, but if this is true: “TANIOS then states, “Hold on, hold on, not yet, not yet… its still early,” it sounds like they could be in someone’s pay to create havoc. Violence was NOT in the interest of Trump. Hence, they are stupid or they are provocateurs working against Trump. Lebanese politics is very complex, and even politics within the Maronite Christian community is apparently complex. For a tiny country, Lebanon has long held an amazing amount of diversity within its borders, as does Israel.

“During the investigation, law enforcement discovered open source media video of the incident from January 6, 2021. On the video, KHATER is seen making his way towards TANIOS. KHATER then states, “Give me that bear shit,” and reaches into the backpack on TANIOS’ back. TANIOS then states, “Hold on, hold on, not yet, not yet… its still early.” KHATER is then seen emphatically telling TANIOS, “They just fucking sprayed me,” and KHATER is seen holding a white can with a black top that appears to be a can of chemical spray. See Figure One, below.

This verbal exchange between KHATER and TANIOS, together with KHATER’s retrieval of the spray can from TANIOS, reveals that the two were working in concert and had a plan to use the toxic spray against law enforcement.

On the video, KHATER continues to talk animatedly with TANIOS. At approximately 2:20 p.m., KHATER walks through the crowd to within a few steps of the bike rack barrier. KHATER is standing directly across from a line of law enforcement officers to include U.S. Capitol Police (“USCP”) Officers B. Sicknick and C. Edwards, and Metropolitan Police Department (“MPD”) Officer D.
