Antonio Moore, JD, of ToneTalks places George Floyd’s death in the context of the history of Minneapolis and of the United States. He discusses Minneapolis’ history of welcoming immigrants from abroad, while locking out African Americans whose ancestors were enslaved.
“Minneapolis was built on Specific Black families. And why saying #BlackLivesMatter Isn’t Enough”
Comment: We need to make Affirmative Action-minority contract set-asides only for Americans whose ancestors were enslaved within the United States, and Native Americans. This would have an immediate impact. For half a century new immigrants arrive from all over the world and claim affirmative action-minority contract set asides. This is stripping African Americans of opportunity. It’s also stripping white Americans of opportunity.
