Trump is the head of the National Security Council, which issued a letter alleging parts of Bolton’s book could constitute a national security threat. 🙄Eye-roll.🙄 Bolton needs to be called as an impeachment witness or pity the New York Times and the book whistleblower-leaker. Maybe the US House will call him in for the record if the Senate refuses.

It also appears that some of this classified information…’reasonably could be expected to cause exceptionally grave harm to the national security’ of the United States if disclosed without authorization“.  This statement makes no sense.  Either it causes harm or not.  It’s not authorization that changes that.

Contradicting Trump’s version of events, Bolton, in a manuscript for a book yet to be published, wrote that the president told him he wanted to freeze $391 million in security aid to Ukraine until Kyiv pursued investigations into Democrats, including Biden and the former vice president’s son Hunter Biden, The New York Times reported… Parnas indicated he would be willing to testify in the trial, adding, “The president knew everything that was going on with Ukraine.” See:  “As White House objects to Bolton book, senators pose queries in Trump impeachment trial“, Jan. 29, 2020 http://feeds.reuters.com/~r/Reuters/PoliticsNews/~3/8mYcGiWVWy4/as-white-house-objects-to-bolton-book-senators-pose-queries-in-trump-impeachment-trial-idUSKBN1ZS19Q

Phone number and email of the person signing the letter is found here. It is unclear if this person is independent of the administration or serves at the President’s pleasure: https://www.archives.gov/isoo/contact/general.html
