US Congressman Adam Schiff, head of the US House Intelligence Committee, is probably the most qualified to deal with this topic, because as an assistant US Attorney he prosecuted Richard Miller, an FBI agent who worked as a Russian agent. On Friday, US Congressman Schiff posted a statement on twitter:
Mueller’s investigation began as a counterintelligence inquiry into whether individuals associated with the Trump campaign were compromised by a foreign power. By law, that evidence he uncovered must be shared with our Committee. And his report must also be made public. Now.”

This was followed by a photo of an official statement by US Congressman Schiff:
Today, the Attorney General has informed Congress and the public that the Special Counsel has concluded his investigation and submitted a report of his findings. That report needs to be released to the public.

Pursuant to the Special Counsel regulations, Mueller’s report is likely to focus on this prosecutorial decisions and may not shed necessary light on counterintelligence findings of profound significance to our committee and the nation – whether the President or others around him have been compromised by a foreign power.

The Mueller investigation, like our own probe, began as a counterintelligence inquiry into whether individuals associated with the Trump campaign were compromised by a hostile foreign nation. By law, the evidence he has uncovered on all counterintelligence matters must now be shared with the House Intelligence Committee, whether it resulted in indictment or not.

We will insist that the Justice Department meets its statutory obligations and be transparent with our Committee and the public. Anything less would be negligent in the service of our national security“. (Adam Schiff via twitter at 7:49 pm, March 22, 2019, original tweet below.)

TRUMP AG WILLIAM BARR ARRIVED AT THE JUSTICE DEPARTMENT’S OFFICE A COUPLE OF HOURS AGO. THUS, SOMETHING (LIKELY SMALL SUMMARY) MAY BE SUBMITTED TO CONGRESS LATER TODAY. IT MAY BE MISLEADING, HOWEVER. And, in response to some of the trolls – Donald John Trump, Sr. WAS-IS the head of the Trump campaign.

Note: The text was retyped by this blogger because Adam Schiff’s assistants are apparently too lazy to update the web site of either the House Intel Committee, or his own web site, on anything remotely like a routine basis. The original appears as a twitter photo. His assistants are apparently not monitoring the twitter account for trolls either. Like Trump’s dependence on twitter, this is wrong. Anything US government officials say is supposed to be public record and, as such, should appear on official government web sites and not simply private forums such as twitter. As some may recall, they took President Obama’s blackberry away from him. US Congressman Schiff needs to hire hard-working assistants like US House Oversight Chair Cummings has – who update the web sites in a routine and timely manner.
