President urged international organizations to continue their joint work for the release and return to Ukraine of all the Kremlin’s captives, 3 December 2018 – 11:03

President Petro Poroshenko urged international organizations to continue their joint work for the release and return to Ukraine of all the Kremlin’s captives.

“Ukraine will continue to do everything to return all hostages from the occupied Donbas and the illegally annexed Crimea, all political prisoners held illegally in Russian prisons as soon as possible. Again, taking advantage of the opportunity, I call on all human rights organizations, Governments and international organizations to work together to achieve this goal,” he said during a speech at the Forum “70 Years of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights: An Agenda for Ukraine”.

Petro Poroshenko also stressed that after the attack on Ukrainian ships near the Kerch Strait on November 25, the struggle for the liberation of 24 Ukrainian soldiers is underway.

The President said that Ukraine had appealed to the European Court of Human Rights on this issue, which “in an unprecedentedly short time, issued an urgent and important decision – ordered Russia to provide information on the seizure of seamen, the legal grounds for their detention, the places where they are held, the injuries caused and the medical aid provided”.

“This information, in accordance with the court decision, should be submitted by the Russian Federation at the request of Ukraine today. We hope that this will happen and the lawlessness towards our sailors will be finally terminated,” Petro Poroshenko said.

Ukraine also demands the immediate release of both Ukrainian sailors and warships, as stated by Petro Poroshenko. “It is very important that the whole world supports this demand of Ukraine,” the President summed up.

We hope that Ukraine has fired BGR Group, which has long worked for Russian oligarchs through Alfa Bank, and now LetterOne, and even worked for Russia on the Uranium One deal.

The sanctions against Russia have been a joke. Thus, we are facing a situation which looks a lot like the run-up to World War II.
