African Americans were over half (50.2%) of the victims of hate crimes classified within the race-ethnicity-ancestry bias category in 2016, while they are only 13.4% of the US population. 3.8% of the victims were American Indian/Alaskan Natives (Native Americans) even though they are a mere 1.3% of the US population.
Jews were 54% of the victims classified within the hate crimes motivated by religious bias category in 2016, even though they are only between 1.7% and 2.6% of the total U.S. population.
Within the category of Race/Ethnicity/Ancestral (Bias Motivation) Hate Crimes in 2016:
Over half (50.2%) of the victims were African Americans, although they are merely 13.4% of the US population.
Over one fifth (20.5%) of victims were White. Non-Hispanic Whites are 60.7% of the population.
Approximately one tenth (11%) of victims were Hispanic, whereas Hispanics are almost twenty per cent (18.1%) of the population.
3.8% of the victims were American Indian/Alaskan Natives even though they are a mere 1.3% of the US population.
Only 3% of the victims were Asians, whereas they are approximately 5.8% of the population.
Looking at the numbers for Hispanics-Latinos and Asians makes clear that it’s not immigrants most at risk for Hate Crimes based on Race/Ethnicity/Ancestry, especially as there are Hispanics-Latinos and Asians who are multi-generational Americans. And, for actual numbers, there are almost seven times more anti-white hate crimes, as compared to anti-Asian ones. There are over sixteen times more hate crimes against African Americans, as compared to hate crimes against Asians.
These statistics are rather astounding, since it would be primarily Whites and African Americans who are losing jobs to new immigrants, who come mostly from Asia and Latin America. And, yet, Whites and African Americans are most likely to be victims of attacks. For the perpetrators of the hate crimes, 46% are White, 26% African American, and 18% Race Unknown. 64% were of unknown ethnicity; 8% were Hispanic or Latino: https://ucr.fbi.gov/hate-crime/2016/topic-pages/offenders
African Americans first arrived in America 400 years ago (1619): https://www.nps.gov/saga/learn/education/upload/african%20american%20history%20timeline.pdf

Furthermore, according to an article by the Washington Post (2013), Americans are more welcoming of foreigners than most of Asia, as well as more racially tolerant than most Asians. India is especially racially intolerant, according to WaPo: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/worldviews/wp/2013/08/12/40-maps-that-explain-the-world And, yet they become angry when Americans don’t want India to keep dumping their excess workers on our shores to take away jobs. By 2018 and approximately 5 million new legal immigrants later, it would not be surprising if America has become more intolerant.
Jews were 54% of the victims of hate crimes motivated by religious bias in 2016, even though they are only between 1.7% and 2.6% of the total U.S. population. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Jews There were a total of 1584 victims of hate crimes motivated by religious bias. 862 were Jewish.
Muslims were 24.5% of the victims of hate crimes motivated by religious bias in 2016. There were a total of 388 Anti-Muslim hate crime victims in 2016. Approximately 25% of Muslim Americans are African Americans. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islam_in_the_United_States
There were also a total of 787 gay male hate crime victims in 2016.
It would be interesting to cross-compare years in order to start speculating on what role, if any, Russian active measures have played.

Some people from India have objected to the characterization by the Washington Post. However, the only person that I have ever met in my life who openly “preached” segregation of races and gender segregation was an ethnic East Indian, although I have heard that former Klansman David Duke believes these things. Meanwhile, that person is now a professor in a US university, perhaps still spreading and teaching segregation, and taking employment away from an American. Recall that India has a long history of a discrimatory caste system.
