His opponent in the Democratic Primary Run Off, David Baria, is an advocate of solar power, and was endorsed by the Sierra Club: https://twitter.com/dbaria/status/1005468793290874881 While Sherman is looking backwards with dirty energy, Baria is looking forward.

Sherman mentions Healthcubed, which is registered in Delaware, considered a tax haven, and also operates in India. Healthcubed Delaware and Healthcubed India:
Many of Howard Sherman’s California companies have been suspended by the California Secretary of State, for failure to file reports and/or the Franchise Tax Board, for failure meet tax requirements. We don’t know the details but generally this means: “The business entity was suspended or forfeited by the Franchise Tax Board for failure to meet tax requirements (e.g., failure to file a return, pay taxes, penalties, interest).“http://www.sos.ca.gov/business-programs/business-entities/cbs-field-status-definitions/ https://opencorporates.com/officers/us_ca?commit=Go&q=Howard+Sherman&utf8=✓
David Baria supporter, Meridian City Councilman, Weston Lindemann, is promoting a SiliconSouth project: “SiliconSouth Project to promote tech opportunities in Meridian” By Jim Brock May 30, 2018. http://www.meridianstar.com/news/local_news/siliconsouth-project-to-promote-tech-opportunities-in-meridian/article_3ae2f8eb-26e8-5769-a01b-622495187321.html
Clearly Mississippi doesn’t need the advice of backwards looking Howard Sherman. Exploitive extractive industries have kept it backwards, including cutting its forests to ship trees/lumber to Europe to rebuild after World War I (and probably World War II), to burn in European chimneys today, and the oil and gas industry, which mostly fuels the northeast.
