The most strange and annoying thing about this whole case is why the FBI wasn’t investigating Trump already, if it’s true that they weren’t? Are they that stupidly incompetent or that corrupt? Perhaps corruption in the New York FBI field office? It takes about 5 minutes into a Trump general biography video to know that Trump had mob connections, because of being in the construction business, at least in that time and place. And, this impression holds up in fact. Seemingly endless research through the decades by serious journalists such as Wayne Barrett and David Cay Johnston detail his mafia connections. In particular, his mentor-lawyer Roy Cohn was a lawyer for the traditional New York mafia families. The late Wayne Barrett called Trump Tower “a monument to the mob” (Barrett, Wayne, “Trump: The Greatest Show on Earth”, 1992, 2016). From Friedman’s book “Red Mafiya” one is left with the impression that everytime the FBI loses a Russian mobster, he can be found in a Trump Tower or casino. So, while maybe they want to leave him in business to facilitate their work, there should have been a file open. Is the FBI allowed to lie? Trump’s connections to organized crime are so extensive, even if indirect, that it seems impossible that he could have avoided committing a crime in all of these decades. Comey himself was involved in indicting Trump-linked Russian organized crime members both as US Attorney and as FBI director. However, if the FBI had been doing its job, then it seems unlikely that the Mueller case would be dragging on for so long now. Watergate went more quickly. While Watergate appears to have been far less complex, the FBI should have had a decades long head start on Trump.
Couldn’t the FBI ask Australia for help? Over 30 years ago, NSW Australia rejected Trump’s bid to build a casino due to his mafia connections and doubts about financial viability: “Atlantic City would be a dubious model for Sydney and in our judgment, the Trump mafia connections should exclude the Kern/Trump consortium…” Notice their apparent certainty in the matter. In his memos, found further below, Comey repeatedly tells Trump that he is not the target of an FBI investigation. However, in his book he states: “I did not tell the president, mostly because I knew he wouldn’t want to hear it, that the FBI and the Department of Justice had been reluctant to make public statements that we did not have an open case on President Trump for a number of reasons, most important that it would create a duty to correct that statement should that status change.” (Excerpted from: Comey, James, Chapter 14, “The Cloud” in “A Higher Loyalty.” Flatiron Books, 2018).
US House Minority Leader, Nancy Pelosi @NancyPelosi sums it up:
“The release of #Comey Memos are further proof of @realDonaldTrump’s contempt for the rule of law. His attempts to intimidate, circumvent the law & undermine integrity of law enforcement investigations demand immediate action to protect the Mueller investigation. #FollowTheFacts 10:14 PM · Apr 19, 2018”
Below are three excerpts from the Comey memos, followed by the entire 15 pages of memos, and one of the pages of the Steele dossier (memos), discussed in the Comey memos:
In this first excerpt, from Comey’s memos, we see what is essentially a tacit threat of firing Comey by Trump. Lots of people would like your job and blah, blah, blah:
Second Excerpt – Trump on Russian prostitutes; O’Reilly in Putin’s sights:
Third excerpt – Trump wants Flynn off the hook, Trump speaks of reporters in a threatening tone. Comey should know better than joke about putting leakers heads on pikes to Trump, who Comey himself compares to a mob boss.
Trump claims he didn’t spend the night in Moscow, but he apparently did: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-07-13/trump-s-two-nights-of-parties-in-moscow-reverberate-years-later Of course, as Comey observes elsewhere, the accusations don’t necessarily involve spending the night.
Censored in the memo, but most likely the person who called Trump to congratulate him before UK PM May: “Putin among first world leaders to praise Trump victory By Guy Taylor, The Washington Times, Wednesday, November 9, 2016, https://www.washingtontimes.com. There aren’t so many countries with short names with leaders also having short names, that were likely to have been the first to call Trump.
