Carter Page’s Global Energy Capital, LLC, apparently a one man show, has its office listed as 590 Madison Ave, floor 21, which is Regus Office Space and Meeting rooms rentals. The FBI was already looking at Carter Page by 2013, when he had contact, over months, with a Russian spy. Given his background, first with Merrill Lynch in New York, London and Moscow, where he allegedly dealt with Russian government owned-controlled Gazprom, and then as a one man show called Global Energy Capital, LLC, if the FBI hasn’t been looking at him, then they aren’t doing their job. The Steele dossier is just lagniappe – a little something extra. Carter Page calls it a “dodgy dossier”. Dodgy is a British-ism, so he may not be getting his point across. And, Carter Page’s the one who is “dodgy”, anyway.
According to Bloomberg, March 2016: Carter Page “built a career on deals with Russia and its state-run gas company, Carter Page says his business has suffered directly from the U.S. economic sanctions imposed after Russia’s escalating involvement in the Ukraine.” “Trump’s New Russia Adviser Has Deep Ties to Kremlin’s Gazprom” By Zachary Mider, March 30, 2016, 8:00 AM EDT, https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-03-30/trump-russia-adviser-carter-page-interview
According to his company web site (Global Energy Capital, LLC), Carter Page, CFA, was a Merrill Lynch investment banker in London, Moscow and New York and was COO (Chief Operating Officer) of the Energy and Power Group. He claims that he “spent 3 years in Moscow where he was responsible for the opening of the Merrill office and was an advisor on key transactions for Gazprom, RAO UES and others“. He also did research related to energy in the Caspian Sea region for the Council on Foreign Relations. Sometime between 2010 and 2013 his partner, James Richard, apparently left: https://web.archive.org/web/20090923181126/http://globalenergycap.com/management/ https://web.archive.org/web/20100104182311/http://www.globalenergycap.com:80/management
In April of 2017, “Page confirmed to BuzzFeed News on Monday that he is “Male-1” in the court filing and said he had been in contact with Podobnyy, who was working at the time at Moscow’s UN office in New York City under diplomatic cover, although he was really an SVR agent“.
Carter Page claims that a leak unveiled his identity as “Male-1” to BuzzFeed, but maybe they simply guessed his identity, and he admitted to it.
He alleges that this was an “unmasking” and that it’s a “felony”. We smudged out “felony”, because it appears misleading and probably inaccurate, but it may be found in the original.
