This could be one of the things discussed by Trump-Putin during their G20 meetings: “… Aleksandr Zakharchenko, leader of Russia-backed separatists who control part of Ukraine’s Donetsk region, proclaimed the creation of what he described as a new state that would encompass almost all of Ukraine and have its capital in Donetsk….“(RFERL)

While this map isn’t perfectly clear, it is clear enough to see that Crimea and Donetsk only became part of Russia late and due to Russian Imperialism. Click to enlarge.

Russia has already been in North America. The US paid to get shot of them, or so the US thought. Current meddling by Russia in the US appears in violation of the treaty:

FROM THE OFFICE OF SENATOR JOHN McCAIN:
Jul 18 2017 STATEMENT BY SASC CHAIRMAN JOHN McCAIN ON RUSSIAN-BACKED SEPARATISTS DECLARING NEW STATE IN UKRAINE Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator John McCain (R-AZ), Chairman of the Armed Services Committee, released the following statement today on Russian-backed separatists proclaiming a new state in Ukraine:

“Vladimir Putin’s ambition to restore the Russian Empire took another step forward today as Russian-backed separatists in Ukraine’s Donetsk region proclaimed an independent state and adopted the tsarist-era name of ‘Little Russia.’ The ultimate responsibility for this latest flagrant violation of Ukraine’s sovereignty lies squarely with Vladimir Putin’s Russia, upon whose leadership, financing, troops, and weapons the separatists are entirely dependent.

“This illegal proclamation of a Russian puppet state in eastern Ukraine also adds to Russia’s serial violations of the Minsk agreements. Through its aggressive behavior, Russia has demonstrated it does not seek the peace the Minsk agreements were designed to achieve. Instead, Vladimir Putin is calculating that the more Ukrainians his forces and his proxies kill, the more Ukrainian territory they will be able to seize. And the more Putin forces Ukraine to devote scarce resources to war rather than improving the economy, the more he can destabilize the government in Kiev and prevent Ukraine from realizing its Euro-Atlantic future.

“The United States and our European allies must honestly confront the reality that we have failed to fundamentally change Russia’s calculus in Ukraine over the last three years.

“If we are serious about ending the bloodletting in eastern Ukraine and restoring Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, we must be willing to think and act anew to compel a change in Russian behavior. It is simply not enough, for example, to say that U.S. and European sanctions imposed after the annexation of Crimea will remain until Russia fulfills its obligations under the Minsk agreements. That approach has been tried, and it has failed. Acting together, the United States and our European allies need to develop a policy and strategy to escalate the diplomatic, economic, and military consequences Russia will suffer until it honors its commitments under the Minsk agreements. Here at home, we must start by sending a strong Russia sanctions bill to the president’s desk and providing Ukraine the defensive lethal assistance it needs to defend itself.” https://www.mccain.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/press-releases?ID=8FF2E1F9-08FD-4F2D-824A-312A54F17676

On February 2nd, the Trump administration lifted sanctions which blocked the Russian FSB from getting the latest Information Technology (IT) products/ updates. Access to updates, etc., due to the lifting of sanctions facilitates Russian hacking of the US and Europe. The Trump administration seems to be effectively inviting Russia’s security services (FSB) to do more hacking. These sanctions need to be restored in any sanctions bill. https://miningawareness.wordpress.com/2017/07/07/3-trump-policies-which-facilitate-future-tampering-with-us-elections-by-russia/

The Daily Vertical: Telling The Truth About The Donbas (Transcript) July 10, 2017 09:36 GMT

Has the Kremlin finally decided to stop denying that its military is fighting in eastern Ukraine?

Is Moscow finally abandoning the fiction that the war in the Donbas is a Ukrainian civil war and not a Russian invasion?

Recent remarks by Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov suggest this may be the case.

According to Russian and Ukrainian press reports, on June 30 Lavrov said the following:

“I have read and heard much criticism regarding our decision to join the fight in Donbas and in Syria.”

Lavrov added that Moscow intervened in Ukraine to “protect the Russian-speaking population.”

Now we have seen this movie before.

The Kremlin initially denied that its troops had intervened in Crimea, only to have Vladimir Putin himself later admit it — and brag about it — on television.

And given the fact that Ukraine has recently captured and exposed several Russian soldiers fighting in the Donbas, the fiction of Russian noninvolvement is becoming increasingly impossible to maintain.

Now this is particularly relevant given last week’s agreement between Putin, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, and French President Emmanuel Macron to comprehensively implement the Minsk peace deal in Ukraine.

But in doing so, it is probably well past time for everybody to once and for all abandon another fiction: the one where everybody pretends that Russia is a mediator in the war in the Donbas and not a combatant. “Donetsk separatist leader Aleksandr Zakharchenko has unilaterally declared a state of “Malorossia, or “Little Russia” to assume the mantle of Ukraine.

The European Union has condemned a move by separatists in eastern Ukraine to create a new state called Malorossia, or Little Russia, and urged Moscow to distance itself from the proposition.

“Recent ‘declarations’ and provocative rhetoric from so-called leaders regarding certain areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine not currently under the control of the government run counter to the objectives of the Minsk agreements,” an EU spokeperson said on July 19, referring to a 2015 cease-fire and peace deal.

The statement came a day after Aleksandr Zakharchenko, leader of Russia-backed separatists who control part of Ukraine’s Donetsk region, proclaimed the creation of what he described as a new state that would encompass almost all of Ukraine and have its capital in Donetsk.

“The European Union expects Russia to distance itself unequivocally from such ‘declarations’ or actions that violate the spirit of negotiations in which it is engaged, stepping up its efforts to bring this conflict to an end,” the EU said.

“This most recent deplorable development is part of a worrying trend that includes ‘administrative measures’ such as the expropriation of companies, the declaration of a ‘state border’ or adoption of currencies other than the Ukrainian Hryvnia in Donetsk or Luhansk,” it said.

“In parallel, the EU also continues to support an inclusive approach on Ukraine’s part towards Ukrainian citizens living in areas not currently under the control of the government.” Copyright (c) 2017. If you are pro-Russian imperialism you’re in the wrong spot and can go back to RT news, Sputnik, etc. This blog opposes all imperialism whether US, Russian, French, etc. We oppose all war and mass immigration, which in itself can be a sort of cultural warfare. Let people travel some and experience other places but otherwise stay home and mind their own problems and care for the old folk at home. The exception should be those who marry foreigners and women who don’t want to veil. Russia has long used sending Russians into various regions as an excuse to later invade. The Nazis used a similar strategy. Ultimately it’s genocide, especially cultural genocide.
