From Reuters: “Sessions to face questions on Russia, Comey in high-stakes Senate hearing Posted:Tue, 13 Jun 2017 07:40:56 -0400
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions will face questions on Tuesday about his dealings with Russian officials and whether he intentionally misled Congress as a Senate panel investigates the Kremlin’s alleged involvement in the 2016 U.S. presidential election.

Trump appears to have intimidated FBI director Comey. If so, how much easier to intimidate AG Sessions. Furthermore, Jeff Sessions appears to be the perfect fall-guy for Trump, because it’s still politically correct to hate white southerners and because of Sessions’ animated expressions that make him look like a cat who ate the canary. If he has been threatened by Trump or Putin, it’s not clear that a public hearing is the best place for him to testify, however. It is possible, of course, that Sessions bought into the lie of Putin as the savior of Christendom.

The US DOJ is accused by watchdog group, CREW, of foot-dragging regarding a freedom of information request (FOIA) for the documentation related to Sessions’ recusal from the Russia-Trump campaign collusion investigation.

Thus, CREW has filed suit to force the US DOJ to expedite production of FOIA documents related to Jeff Sessions’ recusal from the Russia investigation, as discussed below. These pages are followed by Sessions’ recusal statement and the more recent DOJ statement re Comey.
