In the Kremlin it is springtime… there’s bromance in the air so they say… (Parody adaptation of Tina Turner’s “Foreign Affairs“: http://youtu.be/nWYG3kWwDHU )

On Tuesday, US Secretary of State Tillerson had said that he hoped that the Russian government concludes that Assad is “unreliable”. Trump expressed concern that an Assad alliance is “very bad for Russia”, on Wednesday (See RFERL excerpts below).

Tillerson dumped the US press corps to run off to meet with Putin, so that there is no non-Russian public record. Putin had said that there was no meeting, but then decided that there was, after all. Afterwards, the Russian Foreign Minister, Lavrov, insulted a journalist who asked a question.

Maxine Waters had predicted in a tweet:

Do you really think Putin is not going to meet w/ Tillerson – the former CEO of ExxonMobil – who was awarded Russia’s Order of Friendship?
” Exxon is still operating Sakahalin I, in the Russian Far East. It is a co-owner with Russian State owned Rosneft.

Yes, Tillerson left the press corps again! This time in Moscow!

The United States and Russia have cautiously backed efforts to improve ties after talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, though a clear rift remained over a suspected chemical-weapons attack in Syria.

The April 12 meeting in Moscow between Putin and Tillerson — the highest-level face-to-face talks between the two sides under President Donald Trump’s administration — came amid heightened tensions over Moscow’s backing of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
“It is clear to us the reign of the Assad family is coming to an end,” Tillerson said before leaving Italy for Moscow on April 11. “We hope that the Russian government concludes that they have aligned themselves with an unreliable partner in Bashar al-Assad.”
Trump said in an interview with Fox Business Network broadcast on April 12 that in backing Assad, Putin is helping “truly an evil person, and I think it’s very bad for Russia.”

“I think it’s very bad for mankind. It’s very bad for this world,” Trump said.http://www.rferl.org/a/tillerson-press-russia-syria-trump-detente-hopes-stall-moscow-visit/28424677.html

Ultimately, the Russian government owned oil companies, Rosneft and Gazprom, are competitors to Exxon, though they’ve needed Exxon’s expertise, at times. Also, Israel will probably become a competitor with Russia for European gas sales. Thus, the crux of the situation may be how close Putin, and other elements within the Russian government, still are to Israeli PM Netanyahu and to Chabad. The Trumps have multigenerational ties to Netanyahu and Chabad.

Regarding The Putin Netanyahu Bromance, Jeffrey Blankfort recently observed: “It is a bizarre situation beyond anyone’s imagination and may give the concept of a menage a trois a whole new meaning.http://www.counterpunch.org/2017/02/15/the-putin-netanyahu-bromance
With Tillerson is it a “menage a quatre“?

Chabad has been Putin’s state sanctioned Judaism. Roman Abramovich gave big to it in the past. However, how truly vested Putin is in either Abramovich or Chabad, remains unknown. We do know, however, that the Trumps have had ties with Chabad and Netanyahu over three generations and for decades.

Trump’s father was friends with Netanyahu in the 1980s, and the Chabad-Lubavitch sect supported Netanyahu for PM in the 1990s. Sheldon and Miriam Adelson, who gave at least $20 million to help Trump’s campaign, are Chabad supporters: “Rabbi Shea Harlig is director of Chabad of Southern Nevada, an ultra-Orthodox Jewish community center largely financed by the Adelsons.http://www.npr.org/2012/03/20/148939665/for-a-personal-cause-casino-owner-bets-on-gingrich

Trump’s father, Fred, apparently had Chabad ties via Bunny Lindenbaum, who gave to the Chabad Brooklyn Jewish Center (as did his son). He met Bunny Lindenbaum in the 1940s. His Netanyahu ties appear to be from Bunny Lindenbaum, as well. Furthermore, Trump’s father helped set up and finance the Beach Haven Jewish Center in the 1950s, which currently has a Chabad leader, and probably always did. Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner are apparently affiliated with Chabad, as well. “Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner’s choice of neighborhood narrows the focus on Chabad“. http://wapo.st/2iKlORz. They chose a house a short walk from a Chabad center. According to Forward .com, “Kushner Foundation Gives $342K to Chabad — Still Surprised About Jared and Ivanka’s Synagogue?” By, Judy Maltz (Haaretz)January 9, 2017. They say that Jared and Ivanka purchased the home for $5.5 million. Not all Jews think that Chabad is part of Judaism: “While most American Jews consider Chabad to be just another form of Orthodox Judaism, every Rabbi in Israel, where religion is taken much more seriously, consider Chabad to be a completely different religion!http://www.chabad-mafia.com/religion. And, if you consider the following, its relationship to Judaism sounds like the relationship between Mormons and Christianity: “Chabad Rabbis consider the Tanya to be over and above traditional Jewish texts such as the Tanach and the Talmud. Most Orthodox Jews have never even seen the Tanya, a book that was written by the founder of the Chabad movement around 1797. The text was later corrected by his followers in 1814, about 2 years after the founder of the movement had died.http://www.chabad-mafia.com/religion Likewise, the Mormons have the Book of Mormon. Chabad sounds like an “invented tradition”. It appears to take advantage of those who do not know much about their own religion. Islamic extremism is also an invented tradition, (as are Scottish Clan Tartans). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Invented_tradition

What many missed last summer: “Israel and Russia: BFFs? Netanyahu’s budding ‘bromance’ with Putin Is Israel cultivating stronger ties with Russia  over the U.S.?https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/worldviews/wp/2016/06/08/israel-and-russia-bbfs-netanyahus-budding-bromance-with-putin/ According to the Washington Post article, above, official statements said that Putin and Netanyahu discussed the Middle East, the situation in Syria, “as well as coordination between their respective militaries, trade and cultural ties…” Putin pointed out that 1.5 million Russian and former Soviet citizens live in Israel.

That was quick. Tillerson asked foreign ministers yesterday why US taxpayers should care about Ukraine. Now he’s meeting w/ Putin.
