South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley whose family is from India would count as a two for one “minority” in Trump’s administration, even though Asians are an estimated 60% of world population (with India and China having an estimated 37% of world population). Proposed as Secretary of State for which she is unqualified, she would bring close ties to the India-American nuclear industry-lobby and the ability to promote it, like India-American nuclear lobbyist Richard Verma who became Ambassador to India under Obama. Although an advocate of the nuclear industry, she is suing the US government to take radioactive waste away from South Carolina. A US State Governor who is suing the US government promoted to US Secretary of State appears unseemly.
The disparity between black and overall unemployment in Governor Nikki Haley’s South Carolina is greater than Sen. Jeff Session’s state of Alabama; and far greater than Mississippi. So, she has no “lessons” to teach anyone. India has had caste racism for thousands of years and people from India would do well to return home or stay home to correct their own problems. The media insist on deceptively lumping immigrants who have flooded into the US over the last half century with black Americans who arrived in the period of 1619 to 1808, by calling them all people of color and calling opponents to mass immigration racists. Nikki seems to imply the same thing, whether or not she actually said it. It is important to recall that some Mexican Americans have been in the US west for hundreds of years as well.
And, the very fact that unqualified Nikki Haley, with a degree in accounting, is being considered for a position of Secretary of State, rather than a qualified black person or hispanic, is testimony to the problem. She’s a two for one non-black “minority” who can balance the overwhelmingly white male list of candidates.
Furthermore, South Carolina sends the unemployed to work in the South Carolina nuclear facility (Savannah River Site) as part of their “welfare to work” program. Black South Carolina has a 10.7% unemployment rate, which is 4.8% greater than the general unemployment rate for South Carolina (2015), meaning that this is de facto radioactive racism against black people.
By registering Holtec as a minority owned firm, Holtec’s India born owner Kris Singh, who has roots in the same area of India as Nikki Haley’s father and Nikki calls a family friend, has abused of the (commonly believed) intent of Affirmative Action programs, which is to help right historic wrongs perpetuated against Black Americans who mostly arrived in the Americas from the early 1600s to the early 1800s and who suffered under slavery and Jim Crow. It has been hijacked by immigrants such as Kris Singh who arrived starting in the late 1960s.
Nikki Haley tried to bring Holtec’s Small Modular Reactors to the Savannah River Nuclear site in South Carolina. Since this is a Federally owned site, Holtec-Singh would probably count as a minority contractor set-aside. This is commonly called “working the system” and sniffs of nepotism too.
This minority status may be part of the reason that in July 2014, the State of New Jersey gave Holtec a $260 million tax incentive (tax break) to expand operations at the Port of Camden. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holtec_International (Additionally a member of the Norcross family, accused by opponents of running a political machine in New Jersey, serves on the Holtec board.)
The 1965 immigration law, in conjunction with unfairly written affirmative action policies, seems to have been intentionally designed to undermine Affirmative Action for black people. While white people thought that jobs were going to black people, jobs were going overseas, and to overseas immigrants who have been arriving in the US en masse since the law went into effect in 1968. Both Nikki Haley’s parents and Kris Singh appear to have been among the first to benefit from these policies. The 1965 law has been exacerbated by more recent immigration policies such as H1B, in conjunction with Affirmative Action policies which allowed many or most of the immigrants to claim minority or disadvantaged status. Even Goya Foods of New Jersey, whose owners were born in Spain, has apparently claimed minority status!
India has had caste racism for thousands of years. That’s clearly why people from India appear the most adept at name-calling to get what they want – more of their family and friends into the country and perks associated with “minority” status. People from India need to go home and get their own racist house in order instead of lecturing Americans or calling them racist for not wanting to give away their jobs to foreigners.
Nikki Haley and the mainstream media insist on false lumping of immigrants from Asia who have flooded into the US over the last half century together with black Americans who arrived in the period of 1619 to 1808. The media seems to have an agenda to continue population dumping of Asians upon the Americas to the detriment of Black Americans, White Americans, American Indians and Hispanic Americans. Calling themselves Indian Americans, rather than Asian Indians or East Indians suggests a long-term plan to snatch American Indian lands.
And, the very fact that Nikki Haley, with a degree in accounting, is being considered for a position of Secretary of State, rather than a qualified black person is testimony to the problem. She’s a two for one non-black “minority” who can balance the overwhelmingly black male list of candidates. Also, testimony to the problem is the very few black governors in US history and the disproportionate numbers of governors with roots in India as compared to their percentage of population : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_minority_governors_and_lieutenant_governors_in_the_United_States
Asians are over half of the world population. India and China are over a third. So, they are hardly endangered minorities. These recent arrivals were never persecuted by the US government. On the contrary, they continue to benefit from Affirmative Action designed primarily to help Black Americans. Media has called Nikki Haley Indian, as opposed to East Indian or Asian Indian, probably intentionally trying to deceive people into believing that she is an American Indian.
NJ Biz “N.J.’s Top 250 Privately Held Companies: Top 10 Minority-Owned“,
September 14, 2016, lists Kris Singh’s Holtec as number 7 with $305.3 million
Goya Foods is also listed – yet another abuse of the system.
According to Philly.com: “Holtec a tech firm with ambitions to grow” By Joseph N. DiStefano, Inquirer Staff Writer, July 11, 2014 , Holtec filed state and federal documents in 2012 for proposed building of small modular reactors at the Savannah River Nuclear site. It is stated that the “proposal won support from South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, whose father’s family has roots in the same part of India as Singh’s. She called herself a family friend last fall as she attended dedication ceremonies for the $80 million Krishna P. Singh Center for Nanotechnology at the University of Pennsylvania… Singh donated $3,500 to Haley’s gubernatorial campaign in 2011, according to South Carolina campaign finance records.” Read the article here: https://web.archive.org/web/20150914234442/http://articles.philly.com/2014-07-11/news/51307920_1_singh-center-indian-people-delaware-valley
Despite being over 1/3rd of the world population, people from India and China can come to the US as permanent immigrants under the 1965 law, and on H1B (temporary dual intent which easily turns into a green card), and other visas, (unfairly) benefit from the Affirmative Action policies (always believed to be) designed to help create a level playing field for African Americans who were persecuted for hundreds of years with slavery and Jim Crow. Asia is the most populous continent, with its 4.3 billion inhabitants accounting for 60% of the world population. The world’s two most populated countries alone, China and India, together constitute about 37% of the world’s population.” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_population
Thus, Holtec’s India born Kris Pal Singh gets to claim disadvantaged minority status for his company which manufactures cheaply made nuclear waste cans, and his pro-nuclear relative-family friend, SC Gov Nikki Haley, is being eyed up by Trump as possible Secretary of State, where she can promote the East India American nuclear industry across the world with other members of the India Nuclear Industry like Richard Verma- never mind that she’s unqualified. Who cares? She would count as a double minority, even though she and everyone else consider her “white”. It doesn’t matter what she and everyone else consider her when calls are made re diversity she will be counted as minority female, which helps protect jobs for white males.
She’s having South Carolina sue the US government to remove nuclear waste from the state but wants to keep making more radioactive waste at the Savannah River nuclear site, and elsewhere. How can she represent a government that she is suing?
Black South Carolina Unemployment: 10.7% (4.8% greater than general)
Black Mississippian Unemployment 9.4% (2.9% greater than general)
Black Alabama Unemployment 10.6% (4.5% greater than general)
Mississippi has a larger black population than South Carolina, too, apparently having not chased off as many black people as South Carolina has. Or, perhaps, South Carolina has welcomed more white and Asian immigrants. At one time South Carolina was majority black.
