Nuclear Power Nuclear War Everyday JFK quote

There is such a thing as too late. We are standing on the threshold of too late. https://miningawareness.wordpress.com/2015/01/19/standing-at-the-threshold-70-years-of-nuclear-is-enough/
At any moment a nuclear disaster as big or bigger than Chernobyl or Fukushima may occur. Those currently involved in legal action re the current/recent crimes of the nuclear industry need to get moving and stop dragging their feet. It’s been many months now. If the lawyers continue to drag their feet, the technical experts need to make the information public. It can be anonymous. This is an emergency. Let’s shut the nuclear industry down now! Hurry Up! 70 plus years is too much already! Just As Above Ground Nuclear Testing was Stopped, So Too Must Leaking of Radionuclides from the Nuclear Fuel Chain Be Stopped.

Read about Stephen Comley here: http://www.stephencomleysr.com/about/
He has refused to remain silent about the crimes of the USNRC-nuclear industry for decades. Educate people about him and his Presidential Campaign. If you are Republican or have open primaries, please support Comley for President. Although it is doubtful that he will get the nomination, it might still be possible. Perhaps he can be the VP for Sanders and put in charge of shutting down nuclear as safely as possible. Yes, Sanders is running as a Democrat, but that is part of the beauty of such a ticket.

Even from a statistical point of view they keep discovering that nuclear is more deadly than initially thought. For those who missed it: https://miningawareness.wordpress.com/2015/12/19/another-look-at-the-recent-low-dose-radiation-exposure-study-inworks/ Shows that risk is around 15 times worse than BEIR VII thought, and maybe higher.

Beware non-Germans. Germany needs a place for its radioactive waste and has a tradition of sending it elsewhere – to the US, UK, Russia – instead of trying to develop innovative solutions.

French state-owned EDF is apparently playing penny stock-like games by dragging its feed on the Hinkley Point nuclear decision.

450 million euros are needed to treat those who got cancer from French weapons tests in Polynesia. Under President Chirac, in 1996, an annual 150 million euro ($165.2 million) was agreed, but France wants to cut that to 84 million euros this year, less than 1/5th what is needed. See Reuters below.

A lesson to government workers about not being involved in corrupt schemes. The radioactive waste dump owner, Mr. Semnani, appears to have double crossed the official and not paid up all that was promised. The government official got jail time, cancer. He still has the US tax authorities (IRS) on his back decades later, who have no pity despite his cancers, and other health problems. Mr. Semnani alleged money was extorted from him and paid a small fine and eventually sold the radioactive waste dump to former Goldman Sachs investment bankers. He is now a self-appointed Iran expert and philanthropist: https://miningawareness.wordpress.com/2016/02/21/radioactive-waste-dump-owner-semnani-paid-govt-official-600000-official-went-to-jail-got-cancer-semnani-got-fined-became-iran-policy-expert-philanthropist/

Why is the US DOE giving taxpayer $40 million to a start-up for a nuclear reactor type which has repeatedly failed and caused contamination? The Germans are currently trying to dump the radioactive waste from these failures on America. And, almost no info on the owner of the company can be found, except that he is Iranian and piggy-backed on a well-qualified minority businessman to get NASA subcontracts by co-owning SGT? https://miningawareness.wordpress.com/2016/02/21/us-to-throw-40-million-to-iranian-x-energy-for-more-research-on-dangerous-failed-pebble-bed-nuclear-reactors-as-germany-tries-to-dump-its-failed-pebble-bed-spent-nuclear-fuel-on-america-german-e/ Are these the nuclear reactors Iran wants to cooperate with Hungary on?

Some of the Sahel “terrorists” that France is after are actually protesting against uranium mining.

New: https://miningawareness.wordpress.com/2016/02/16/uk-nuclear-beauty-pageant-scheme-more-than-sheer-madness-rudd-conflict-of-interest/

New post yesterday, already updated and renamed this morning:
EDF Postpones Decision on Nuclear Reactors at Hinkley Point in the UK; “Justification” Still Sought to Use Defective Nuclear Reactor Pressure Vessel at Flamanville in France; Old Cracked UK Nuclear Reactors Given Operating Extensions https://miningawareness.wordpress.com/2016/02/15/edf-decides-whether-to-cancel-nuclear-reactors-at-hinkley-point-in-the-uk-as-justification-still-sought-to-use-defective-nuclear-reactor-pressure-vessel-at-flamanville-in-france/

Like a cheap Penny Stock company, fleecing the French taxpayer, probably trying to fool potential Chinese investors, and letting construction companies continue to make money, EDF continues to postpone its decision on Hinkley Point Nuclear Reactors in the UK. They now claim it is because of the Chinese New Year.

Did EDF just dilute their stocks like a cheap Penny Stock company by creating more? The French State which owns the majority – around 85% – took shares rather than dividends. Does that mean the shares were diluted? It certainly sounds like it.

From the Ecologist:
EDF’s Hinkley C offices occupied as UK nuclear hopes wither
Oliver Tickell, 15th February 2016: “An occupation of EDF’s site office for Hinkley C turned into a celebration today as the EDF Board postponed its ‘final investment decision’ for the tenth time. With strong opposition among French unions and the project afflicted by severe technical and financial problems, it’s not just Hinkley that’s going down, but the UK’s entire nuclear programme.” (Emphasis our own) Read the article here: http://www.theecologist.org/News/news_round_up/2987168/edfs_hinkley_c_offices_occupied_as_uk_nuclear_hopes_wither.html

Almost 10 years ago the Guardian newspaper explained that cracks in graphite bricks at Hunterston B, Hinkley Point, Heysham 1, and Hartlepool could cause misalignment of the holes, thus significantly increasing the risk of an accident: “fuel rods could become jammed in the reactor, and misalignment could make it hard, if not impossible, to lower in control rods to close the power plant down.” See: “Why cracks at the cores of ageing AGRs worried safety inspectorhttps://www.theguardian.com/science/2006/jul/05/energy.greenpolitics

Almost 10 years later, according to the BBC, 16 Feb, 2016, “EDF to keep four UK nuclear plants open for years longer By John Moylan, “Heysham 1 and Hartlepool will have their life extended by five years until 2024, while Heysham 2 and Torness will see their closure dates pushed back by seven years to 2030.http://www.bbc.com/news/business-35583740 Hunterston B, near Glasgow, was already extended: “Hunterston B nuclear power plant will run until 2023“, 4 December 2012

Finally everyone got shot of Scalia. While he was on a hunting trip, he got his. Probably the most anti-environmentalist judge ever. At least some animals had their lives saved by his dying in his sleep, on this hunting trip. Happily, it seems that he got no chance to kill animals. We have more nasty comments about him, but no time for now. Contrary to what some have stated, Scalia obviously would have had health problems as obsesity puts a strain on the heart. Whether his obsesity was due to overeating, or to a damaged thyroid, it is a sign of poor health or poor health to come.
