7 days Japan 4.5 plus earthquakes Feb. 23, 2015 7 days USGS with Iwaki, near Fukushima

Really, time to shut those Japanese nuclear reactors down, once and for all! Enough already! 70 years after Hiroshima and Nagasaki is the year to shut all reactors down, worldwide. Japan is in the most active seismic and volcanic region of the world. Isn’t that sufficient to know that it is no place for nuclear reactors? Beam me up, Scotty, little sign of intelligent life down here, least of all in the halls of power. [1]

What is that oceanic lump, around which most of the recent Japan earthquakes clump? Japan 23 Feb. 2014 earthquakes exported to Google Earth It seems to be the outer trench rise or swell of the Japan Trench: “The outer trench swell, outer trench high, or outer rise is a subtle ridge on the seafloor near an oceanic trench, where a descending plate begins to flex and fault in preparation for its descent into the mantle at a subduction zone. The lithosphere is bent upwards by plate stresses,…http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Outer_trench_swell See also: http://www.ntnu.edu.tw/acad/rep/r98/e980002-1.pdfThe Japan Trench is an oceanic trench, a part of the Pacific Ring of Fire, in the floor of the northern Pacific Ocean off northeast Japan. It extends from the Kuril Islands to the Bonin Islands and is 9,000 metres (29,500 ft) at its deepest.[citation needed] It is an extension of the Kuril-Kamchatka Trench to the north and the Izu-Ogasawara Trench to its south with a length of 800 km (500 mi).[1] This trench is created when the oceanic Pacific plate subducts beneath the continental Okhotsk Plate. The subduction process causes bending of the downgoing plate, creating a deep-sea trench. Continuing movement on the subduction zone associated with the Japan Trench is one of the main causes of tsunamis and earthquakes in northern Japan, including the megathrust Tōhoku earthquake and resulting tsunami that occurred on 11 March 2011.[2]” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japan_Trench Subduction zone USGS
In a contest between a dense oceanic plate and a less dense, buoyant continental plate, guess which one will sink? The dense, leading edge of the oceanic plate actually pulls the rest of the plate into the flowing asthenosphere and a subduction zone is born! Where the two plates intersect, a deep trench forms.http://geomaps.wr.usgs.gov/parks/pltec/converge.html

… Japan and its island possessions lie across four major tectonic plates: Pacific plate, North America plate; Eurasia plate; and Philippine Sea plate. The Pacific plate is subducted into the mantle, beneath Hokkaido and northern Honshu, along the eastern margin of the Okhotsk microplate, a proposed subdivision of the North America plate. Farther south, the Pacific plate is subducted beneath volcanic islands along the eastern margin of the Philippine Sea plate. This 2,200-km-long zone of subduction of the Pacific plate is responsible for the creation of the deep offshore Ogasawara and Japan trenches as well as parallel chains of islands and volcanoes, typical of the circum-Pacific island arcs. Similarly, the Philippine Sea plate is itself subducting under the Eurasia plate along a zone extending from Taiwan to southern Honshu, which comprises the Ryuku Islands and the Nansei-Shonto trench. 108 of Japan’s volcanos. There are at least 110 active ones.

Japan is in the Ring of Fire, the most seismically and volcanically active zone in the world. http://pubs.usgs.gov/gip/dynamic/tectonics.html

It takes time to shutdown reactors or remove fuel. There is inadequate warning time for both earthquakes and volcanos – often none. (Read the rest here: https://miningawareness.wordpress.com/2014/10/19/japan-more-larger-volcanic-eruptions-expected-over-next-decades-a-ticking-nuclear-time-bomb/)

Isn’t Fukushima continuing to bleed deadly radiation into the Pacific sufficient? It’s a lousy time to be a marine animal. We are running out of ways to say it. Nuclear promoters need to go take a long walk on a short plank, or go clean-up Fukushima, WIPP, Sellafield and all of the other deadly messes that they’ve made. Did you know that plutonium corrodes with humidity and makes hydrogen gas? An amazing and important fact, which there is no time to discuss, because of writing again about the obvious – the earthquakes, and volcanoes in Japan are a deadly mix with nuclear reactors. We’ve also spent much time on sea-lions, which have fallen to the way-side due to Japan’s quaking and shaking, because of Japan’s Prime Minister’s Nuclearkaze suicidal bent, perhaps because he worships his militaristic grandfather Ishi as a kami? “Prime Minister Hideki Tōjō, himself a veteran of the Manchurian campaign, appointed Kishi Minister of Munitions [2] in 1941, and he held this position until Japan’s surrender in 1945.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nobusuke_Kishi

Here are some of the posts on Japan written over the last year or two which only are versions of the obvious.
